When we posted about L.A. prog-gospel crew Bodies Of Water's "Under The Pines," we mentioned that at least in name, the song reminded some of us (me) of old-time Siltbreezers the Strapping Fieldhands' In The Pineys EP. The video, written... CONTINUE READING NEW BODIES OF WATER VIDEO - "UNDER THE PINES"»

Best way for a blog-buzzed band to alienate as many music fans as possible? Write on your website "I can't understand why anyone likes these musical groups and singers: Wilco, Jeff Buckley, Elvis Costello, The Police, Slint, Rush, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Afghan Whigs. Perhaps you are offended by this. If so, I feel glad. You need to be shaken up. You need to have whatever skewed values you've cultivated over the years CHALLENGED. Listen again to this stuff - you will see that it is junk." The original post has since been deleted, demonstrating either a return to senses, or having sobered up. We're betting it was a little bit of both.

Los Angeles golden-tongued indie-gospel quartet Bodies Of Water make us want to see Hair while alternating between ABBA and the Sufjan team on an iPod. Or something.
