Lykke Li And Heidi Klum Sell A Smoother, Lighter Bra

Onetime Artist To Watch Lykke Li, more recently watched by Conan, is out there promoting a bra to watch: Victoria's Secret Ipex bra's microsmooth fabric conceals, never reveals, offering no nipple show-through, etc. The soundtrack? "Little Bit," though the original...  CONTINUE READING LYKKE LI AND HEIDI KLUM SELL A SMOOTHER, LIGHTER BRA»

Lykke Li Visits Late Night

Artist To Watch Lykke Li gave Americans the first opportunity to watch her on late night TV last night. The buzz Swede visited Studio 6A, where she performed icy dance pop tune "Breaking It Up" with an invisible choir. Looks...  CONTINUE READING LYKKE LI VISITS LATE NIGHT»

New Lykke Li - "Little Bit" (Loving Hand Remix)

We've had plenty of Lykke Li sightings as of late -- most recently as a dancing heartbreaker in "Breaking It Up" video -- but despite all her success, it's sorta nice to go back to where the past BTW began...  CONTINUE READING NEW LYKKE LI - "LITTLE BIT" (LOVING HAND REMIX)»

New Lykke Li Video - "Breaking It Up"

We just saw old timey BTW Lykke Li doing a Take-Away or three with Sarah 'El Perro Del Mar' Assbring and friends. In the Sarah Chatfield-directed video for "Breaking It Up," old-school Lykke makes like old-school Madonna, tying up would-be...  CONTINUE READING NEW LYKKE LI VIDEO - "BREAKING IT UP"»

Lykke Li And El Perro Del Mar Take Away Some Shows

The latest chapter of the La Blogothèque project gets a few Swedish artists to collaborate, which is about as hard as getting a Wolf Parader to start a side project. But still it's special, and of course this is the...  CONTINUE READING LYKKE LI AND EL PERRO DEL MAR TAKE AWAY SOME SHOWS»

New Kleerup (Feat. Lykke Li) - "Until We Bleed (Mikael's Cello Version)"

So I know that some of us disagree on the awesomeness that is Robyn, but if you're into it like Scott and I and the UK charts are, the Andreas Kleerup cowritten/produced track "With Every Heartbeat" hits like a song...  CONTINUE READING NEW KLEERUP (FEAT. New Lykke Li - "I'm Good I'm Gone" (Chuck Brody Remix)

Leave it Lykke Li to pull off Hammer pants and oversized silk blouses and still get half of Sweden to dance. Like M.I.A., she clearly has her own specific style and precise aesthetic, which is part of what makes a...  CONTINUE READING NEW LYKKE LI - "I'M GOOD I'M GONE" (CHUCK BRODY REMIX)»

New Lykke Li Video - "I'm Good, I'm Gone"

When we first saw Lykke Li do "Little Bit," it was clear she liked to dance. This is all the more apparent in the Mattias Montero-directed video for "I'm Good, I'm Gone." (Actually, it looks like all of Sweden, including...  CONTINUE READING NEW LYKKE LI VIDEO - "I'M GOOD, I'M GONE"»

SXSW: Friday In Photos

The original plan on Friday was to see Zooey and Matt Ward (the she and him of She & Him) at Merge's 12AM showcase at the Parish, because she's got a good voice and he's cute. And vice versa. But...  CONTINUE READING SXSW: FRIDAY IN PHOTOS»

SXSW: Thursday In Photos

Interested in filling a rock club to the rafters? Simple: Just have Nada Surf and Destroyer play back to back sometime. People were stuffed asses to elbows at Volume night club for the first day of the Stereogum/PASTE party, although...  CONTINUE READING SXSW: THURSDAY IN PHOTOS»

Band To Watch - SXSW Edition: Lykke Li

This week we're revisiting and reflecting upon the original write-ups for some of our favorite Bands To Watch playing SXSW '08... We were immediately hooked by Bjorn-championed Lykke Li, aka Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson, more or less on the basis...  CONTINUE READING BAND TO WATCH - SXSW EDITION: LYKKE LI»

Bands To License At SXSW

A Wall Street Journal article informs us that in addition to Bands To Watch at SXSW, there'll be a few To License. Those so-called "music-industry insiders" are at it again, wandering Austin in search of bands who have "a sound...  CONTINUE READING BANDS TO LICENSE AT SXSW»

Lykke Li Performs With Swedish Indie All Stars

Sure it was charming when Lykke sang "I'm Good, I'm Gone" in a bathroom. But get your mind out of the toilet and observe: the sweet Swedishness of this clip simply cannot be touched. Here's Ms. Li with special guests...  CONTINUE READING LYKKE LI PERFORMS WITH SWEDISH INDIE ALL STARS»

Lykke Li Goes To The Bathroom

To play a song, silly. Although, Ms. Li isn't above running some sink water, taking spoons to porcelain, and flushing the toilet for added percussive effect. New song "I'm Good, I'm Gone" is on the menu while she's in the cramped potty, featuring a dude on shaker and another on guitar. The adorability factor is high with this one. Just remember to wash your hands when you're done, Lykke! People are watching.

Artist To Watch: Lykke Li

Swedish chanteuse Lykke Li reminds us of a blog-birthed Kylie Minogue, though in some of her live configurations there's the Blow's karaoke vibe and always just a little bit of Feist's charismatic but awkward charm. An icier, Scandinavian Lily Allen...  CONTINUE READING ARTIST TO WATCH: LYKKE LI»
