"Kaplan's Corner" is a good place to be. In this behind-the-scene video, Ira Kaplan reaches out and explains the story behind how Yo La Tengo got their name. Most fans would know that already, but here are some other things we learn: Georgia has one hell of a swing, James needs to work on his curve ball, Ira's too distracted to be a good outfielder and often looks like he's about to break out laughing when he interviews someone, and, finally, Mets great Ed Kranepool not only has a cool name, he seems like a cool guy. And, if you didn't know already, you'll also understand how Yo La got their name. That's a lot of learnin'. (via)
