'Gum Drop Giveaway #51
Wanna rock out in the beautiful ancestral homeland of Björk and Sigur Rós? In conjunction with Iceland Music Export, Stereogum is giving away a trip to the 2008 Iceland Airwaves music festival in Reykjavík. The event takes place October 15-19. One grand prize winner and a friend win round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, and festival tickets.

It's Iceland Airwaves' 10th year and the line-up is stellar. Announced so far:
CSS These New Puritans Final Fantasy Stars Like Fleas Dirty Projectors White Lies The Miracle Fortress The Handsome Furs The Young Knives Junior Boys Simian Mobile Disco Crystal Castles
Not to mention a ton of local acts including GusGus, Reykjavik, FM Belfast, and Ghostigital. Learn more at icelandairwaves.com.
Icelandmusic.is has a comprehensive list of notable Icelandic artists and links to hear their music. You should check it out because for this 'Gum Drop Giveaway we want to know your three favorite Icelandic artists.
Also note: by signing up for this particular sweepstakes, you agree to join Iceland Music Export's e-newsletter.

CONTEST ENDS 9/3/08 AT 12PM EST.
One entry per person. Giveaways are open only to 'Gum Drop subscribers. By entering your e-mail address you are signing up for our weekly exclusive MP3 + contest newsletter. You can always unsubscribe if you don't like it, and you'll still be eligible to win any sweepstakes you entered. Winners must claim their prizes within 7 days of the contest closing, or forfeit, so make sure our emails don't end up in your spam folder. Prizing is fulfilled by third party partners and can often take at least eight weeks to arrive.
