'Gum Drop Giveaway #12
It's hard to believe, but the original 1979 version of Fruit Tree's been out of print for seven years. Righting that wrong, UME/Fontana are releasing this updated collection, which comes with the A Skin Too Few DVD and a 108-page book. So that's all three studio albums -- Five Leaves Left, Bryter Layter, and Pink Moon -- packaged in reproductions of the original art, plus the DVD and book, available only in this limited-edition pressing of 8,000. The book features lyrics sheets, exclusive interviews with Drake's producer Joe Boyd and engineer John Wood, complete track-by-track analysis/history by Robin Frederick, and all original sleeve notes by Arthur Lubow. To quote: "The documentary A Skin Too Few approaches the silent landscapes, locations, people and music in his life, with contributions from Joe Boyd, Gabrielle Drake, Nick’s Cambridge friend and string arranger Robert Kirby and Paul Weller."
