'Gum Drop Giveaway #15
One grand prize winner bridges the '90s alterna gap, taking home the Nirvana Unplugged prize pack along with the recent Dublin-shot 2 CD/1DVD R.E.M. Live and flat autographed by Stipe, Mills, and Buck. And, you remember Nirvana Unplugged, right? Hard to believe it was 14 years ago that Cobain & Co., joined by the Kirkwood brothers and Pat Smear, played that amazing set on MTV. Unplugged In New York is the first official DVD of that performance -- you get the unedited, full-on 66-minute concert, including "Something In The Way" and "Oh Me," which didn't air during the 44-minute broadcast we all know and love. It also packs in five previously unreleased rehearsal performances and MTV News interviews with the band and audience. On top of that unplugged action, grab the color-corrected 1994 documentary Live! Tonight! Sold Out!, which traces Nirvana's meteoric rise by overlapping live footage from their '91/'92 Nevermind tour (the year punk broke!), interviews, etc. Let's recount ... The grand prize includes:
Suitable for framing! The R.E.M. gifts are:
- Nirvana: Unplugged In New York DVD and CD
- Live! Tonight! Sold Out! DVD
- Nirvana sticker and three button set
- An uncut proof sheet of the Live Tonight Sold Out artwork.
You can find out more about your favorite Athenians at their official site. Four runners up each get the R.E.M. goods, but only one person runs the board.
- A copy of the R.E.M. Live CD/DVD
- A Live flat autographed by the band

New Jonathan Boulet Video - "A Community Service Announcement"
This dude's the latest signing to Australia's Modular label, landing with a tidy package of promotional offerings: a catchy, moistly breezy indie-pop debut single that couldn't be better titled for a meet-the-artist track; a subtly arresting/marginally tricked-out video; and a... (more)
New El Guincho - "Antillas (XXXchange Remix)"
When we first heard onetime BTW Pablo Díaz-Reixa, aka El Guincho, we were drawn in by "Antillas," a song we described as "a five-minute bundle of clattering loops and sunny harmonies." It was from the self-released Alegranza!, before he'd signed... (more)
