I would think, and maybe I'm wrong, that the fans of the Silver Jews are smart enough to seperate him from whatever his father has done. I can understand why he would keep it secret, but at the same time, would anyone really find that information to hold them back from enjoying his music?

yeah, honestly, when i look at the list as a whole, nothing really seems that farfetched at all. and besides, its their opinions...which might possibly deviate a tiny bit from ours. If anything, it was a nice overview of 2008

I was truly expecting Deerhunter to take it. But I'm not surprised, still, by Fleet Foxes. Was anyone else completly surprised by Erykah Badu though?

I didn't know Phantom Planet was breaking up, either. But all reports on the internet claim they are just going on a hiatus and not actually breaking up. Which is good, or at least slightly better.

Admittedly, I'm surprised to see the Badu album everywhere, but I thought that it's genius would be lost on a lot of critics since alternative R&B's not that popular of a genre. Mea culpa.
