It's official, Kanye is the new Seal. This new stuff is dissapointing to say the least. He has stated that this is a pop record, and that 'Michael Jackson made pop and he was KING!' or something like that. What Kanye fails to realise is that Michael made good pop music, not this 'my voice has filtered through 1000 machines' rubbish he's serving up. You have always been pop Kanye, just not this sort of pop. Get the autotune out of your system and go make another classic rap album that a white boy like me can listen too. Cheers. I'll toast to that ya'll.

I love it how Timbaland goes 'eh' or 'oh' or 'ah' on every song he produces. It's like he wants to remind everyone that he did this. In this case, Timbaland might want to distance himself from this music. Just exactly how many drugs did Chris do in Ausioslave?

The money was clearly sqaundered on things exterior to the actual music. Like maybe, magicians, philosophers, prophets etc. Maybe Axl kept playing the songs to the prophet who kept telling him that the world would turn on him.
Axl: 'Master, I have a new song for Chinese Democracy'
Plays song
Prophet: Axl, my dear dear friend, go away.
Axl: 'Ok master, here is another 500,000 for your troubles'

'Sam's Town' is an extremely under-rated album and one that should have topped the best-of lists for that year. It's only because of the backlash that Brandon recieved after his 'best album of the last twenty years' comment that made critics turn on them. There are some seriously great lyrics going around on that album and the melodies are completely infectious without being to in-your-face. There was that one reporter who said that the album was contrived and that they only grew facial hair for authenticity. What a ridiculous statement to make and one that is completely irrevelant to the actual music. The actual music is brilliant and the whole feel of the album is uniquely American and reminds me of a Jim Jarmusch film. Anyway, 'Human' is an ok lead single. Seems to me that they've tried to marry the first two albums together on this one. It will be interesting to see how it fits in with the album as a whole. Although I feel it is to 'dance-y' for its own good, the melody is strong enough for me to enjoy it.
Great band, deserve more credit. Probably to heart-on-your-sleeve for you ironic indie blog band of the week music lovers.
