not worse than the obnoxious brother and sister where she always goes "I SAID WEEah!"

a terrible skit is bad enough, but i don't understand for the life of me how SNL could think its a good idea to make some of these awful skits into recurring ones like this and the pepper.

I haven't heard Skeletal Lamping yet, but Coquelicot Asleep in the Poppies is one of my favorite records ever, mainly because of how all over the place and imaginative it is. I also think Hissing Fauna is brilliant. From what i've read, it seems like Kevin is writing more in that schizophrenic Coquelicot style again, but with the Hissing Fauna aesthetic, which makes me pretty excited. I thought the next oM record was going to be too streamlined, but leave it to KB to continue to be awesome.

Is this record is like Coquelicot at all?

anyone know what happened to those songs "Softcore," "Our Last Summer as Independents," and those other songs they were playing live a while ago? Unless they changed the titles it looks like they won't be on SL...

I'm not a big coldplay fan either, but just because you don't like them doesn't mean they aren't earnest and sincere about what they do. these guys are all artists with a passion for making music, and the fact coldplay were on an ipod commercial doesn't change that.

I like At Mount Zoomer, but the production is easily its greatest fault imo. every instrument sounds like it was recorded individually and then pasted together. this is how most albums are recorded, i'm aware, but on Zoomer it doesn't sound very cohesive, as if a band could actually have been playing the songs. the vocals are often too upfront and clean for my tastes (usually dan's songs i think) and the drums sound COMPLETELY tame (see the bridge of "Fine Young Cannibals," a part that deserves some epic cymbal crashes but instead receives a metronome-like snare beat).

it's still a great album, because the songs themselves are strong, but i just feel that most of them are misrepresented on the album due to the production. if you need convincing just look for a live version of "Soldier's Grin" on youtube. its 10x better. i'm really pumped to see all these songs live.
