This guy in the make up never plays any Bowie songs I know. I met him once and he had brilliant things to say about the Steelers defensive schemes though.

Like another Stereogum reader mentioned above - I was immediately reminded of Guided By Voices "Hot Freaks." Third Eye Blind was, is and always will be a horrible, Guitar Center catalog, library books returned on time, ill fitting Hanes returned with a receipt, diet soda with fast food salad, shitty favorite novel flat tire of a musical outfit. Picture it this way most people don't give a shit, they have been able to make for themselves what one might refer to (or they might refer to?) as a semi-charmed career.

And just about 50 or so other great artists.
Of Montreal used to do annual cover shows every New Years in Athens. It was a tradition there for a while and it was awesome. And they did something similar to that last year in New York (not for New Years, that I recall), but they did it like a karaoke night where the audience gets up and sings.
I've seen Of Montreal more than any other band live and my favorite cover from them was More Than A Feeling, it was unforgettable.
