In economics, a monopoly exists when a specific individual or enterprise has sufficient control over a particular product or service to determine significantly the terms on which other individuals shall have access to it.(i.e. Ridiculous Service Charges!) Monopolies are thus characterized by a lack of economic competition for the good or service that they provide. The verb "monopolize" refers to the process by which a firm gains persistently greater market share than what is expected under perfect competition. A monopoly does not require "100%" of a market...And you know who else can usually "hold their own in front of congressional committees"? Lobbyists for giant corporation's CEO's. Oh wait, that's what Billy Corgan is...

I was also at the Outside Lands show, and while Radiohead is always great live, I did find myself leaving the show with a small feeling of disappointment. I know there was a city-imposed noise ordinance that made them stop when they did, but I still wanted more. The power outages weren't the coolest either. And with festivals, there are too many people there for the atmosphere and not the music, equaling an overabundance of cell phones and looking for the guy/girl in your group who's holding...

So I guess Arcade Fire and The National are now in the "Too many people know about them so they are no longer relevant to my constant need to feel like I know music that the majority of the population has yet to discover" category?

I think "Reasonable Doubt" is one of the best Albums of all time, and that isn't being hip-hop restrictive, and it doesn't get a song on the top 100? And Fugees "Killing Me Softly"? That isn't a hip-hop song. It's an amazing R&B cover, but doesn't belong on this list. How about "Ready or Not" instead? Also, I'm really enjoying all the posts reminding me about songs I've forgotten!

Someone else touched on this in an earlier post, and I agree. His last three albums have all had a god awful single that was a lame attempt at pop culture critique, but the other songs on those albums were pretty good. Yes, this is terrible, but I'll put off the judgement that Eminem is "over" until I hear the entire album. Wait, is putting off Judgement allowed on this site? Shit...

I don't understand the defense of this movie as being for young people, therefore it's ok that it isn't smart, or isn't funny to adults. Ever heard of Pixar...?
