Spot on Brad.

In making the song for the movie, he obviously knew it would also be used to promote the movie. Its not a big deal anyway. If he is so against his song being used in a commercial, then why is he ok with writing it for the movie. Not to mention that the songs pretty much sounds like a White Stripes rendition of the classic James Bond theme song.

I think most fans agree at this point that commercialism is the only way for artists to get paid for making music anymore. The term "sellout" doesnt mean what it used to.

MIA is a joke. She was never going to retire in the first place. Its just something that people say to get attention in the news. Nobody knows who you are, so the first album that you release that gets any kind of attention, causes you to claim retirement. So what? Are we supposed to beg for more?

Honestly, I think she should let her music speak for itself and stop hiding it behind false claims of retirement and that stupid 80's overkill gimmick.

The Hold Steady is the most over-hyped band on the market and they don't live up to even a fraction of that hype.

If you know anything about anything, you know that The Hold Steady is just one of those "cool to like" bands.

So then, I guess an interview with Rolling Stone isnt done for publicity?

Actually, probably not. People would actually have to read Rolling Stone for it to count as publicity.
