Minneapolis is considering a18+ show ban throughout the city because they're having problem with minors getting access to alcohol. So maybe that has something to do with it?

MGMT? Still? I thought we all agreed that we'd turn the other way on that one, that it's time to pretend it never happened. A little beirut would have been nice. Or some national. Or some wolf parade. Or some Cut Copy, if we want to replace apples with apples.

Ignoring the quality of Hazards for the moment, I thought Meloy's response was pretty funny and genial, considering how much money that bad P4k review is going to cost him and his band. Especially when his little rock opera has little hope of producing singles and generating mainstream sales.

the audio sounds like it's being piped through a stack of 20+ Ed Hardy shirts. And while the idea that Ed Hardy shirts damp sound better than other shirts is based on a guess, it's probably true. a dense weave to keep the douche in just makes sense.

here's something i'm confused about: why do companies like apple and levi's and Kraft (apparently?) try to sell their products by associating them with a glossy conception of hipsterdom? "getting miracle whip on my Ray-bans, man, that's the worst. almost as bad as when MBV broke up!" right america? MBV! You love those guys!
i thought products were sold by showing people things they enjoy? Like eagles. And tits. And Jeff Goldblum.
Middle Americans don't like hipsters, do they? no one really 'likes' those guys. Can someone crack an egg of knowledge all over my face?

I think it's just a booking coup, as they are playing other gigs that are 19+ and 21+ elsewhere, and the proposed 18+ ban hasn't happened. Dan Deacon is playing the same venue two nights later (with no Twin Cities show), and Fuck Buttons are playing both Minneapolis (Triple Rock) and Northfield in November. The Windish Agency books all of these acts.
