On Stereogum

According to "Stuff that White People Like"...most white people listen to Wu Tang and really like Mos Def. I figure if you're going to throw overtly blanketed statements at least get your sources right.

As for this song, it get's a "meh". C'mon Jay, you can and have done better.

Actually it did get me into listening to the original. Now I'm hunting down more songs. Keep the faith, there's still people who like and want to bother tracking down new/old music to listen to.

This cover is beautiful! I don't know what the fuss is about, would you rather Yorke just phone it in? I thought the whole point of a cover is to take existing work and make it your own.

Currently streaming on CNN via facebook...I'm watching out of curiosity and also I can't take my eyes off that sweet ass gold coffin. Seriously.

It took a second listen...and I actually like it. I haven't really dug anything since Silent Alarm.

You know what, Micheal Jackson's personal life aside (that's a completely different discussion) you sure as fuck can't deny the impact that he had on popular music. He was the first African American to be featured on MTV and had literally everyone across the board - fans and critics giving him praise. The guy is called the "King of Pop" for a reason. I actually believe his relevancy existed through the countless of imitators that we have today.

All I'm saying is no, I'm not going to canonize the man...but I respect him as an artist. Also stop fucking frontin' like you all haven't got at LEAST ONE MJ song that if you were to hear it, you'd sing along, dance or at least tap your foot to it.

So can I get a SHAMON?!

(This coming from a person who usually doesn't comment on these sorts of things.)

I will watch because 1. Lil' Wayne has a briefcase. 2. Lil' Wayne has a bottle of vitamin water (it's cough syrup) and a wad of cash in that briefcase.

I second this. Whenever "That's the Joint, That's the Jam" comes on my ipod I'm always shocked to see that was The Black Eyed Peas. Every time they performed on the show, I kept asking loudly (to no one) "what in the fuck happened to you guys?!"

Anyone else going through Mad Men withdrawl? I tried to watch "The Prisoner" to fill in the void. Didn't work, that shit was too much like Lost or The Island (there's a third reference I can't think of...it's with all the misfits on the island and they go by numbers for names...) for my taste....
