The preview looks cool to me, though I think it's sad that rather than actually learning these tunes (with a real instrument), we've become a nation of gamers who don't know how to do anything for real anymore.

Wow, this goes to show how there are no definitives. For everyone that loves it another hates it or these two artists being paired together. While I am pro odd pairings like these (especially across genres), I am frankly not crazy about the song itself (although I was really impressed by Jack's drum chops - at least it appears like he actually played the part based on his gestures at the drum set).

Wow, a band that puts more than three chords into their songs. I like the track although it does sound a bit dated (80s music - Echo & the Bunnymen). Who cares though? I like that stuff! Agree wity Narr - if you're too cool for school then I suggest you move onto a band with less talent and more edge. Streets

If anybody saw the South Park episode where the hippies stage a peace jam fest they would understand the Man's comments ("let's address the world's problems with this tasty groove"). Sure he's an ass but it doesn't mean what he says is not true. I love Radiohead AND Oasis. They're totally different bands and should never be compared directly because the comparison doesn't apply. It would be like comparing Grieg to Schoenberg (classical). One is drawing it's inspiration from great music from the past (I do this as well and have been criticized for it) while the other is pushing for something new. Streets

Speaking as a somwehat of a novice to both bands, I can tell you this much. I sat through a live studio session with Radiohead (new material). Coming from a classical background I found the depth of the music to be pretty substantive and at times very moving, however I think we need to bare in mind that as this band gets more and more esoteric with their art, the art by default becomes less accessible to the general public. That's their call frankly, but I would never presume to say that musically they don't know what they're doing or that they've lost their direction. Final point: it is idiotic to suggest that simply being cutting edge or innovative implies that the music is of any higher quality or more worth listening to than traditional pop/rock. Chris Isaac has been brilliant in the Elvis tradition. He's just pouring new wine into old jars and that's fine. Frankly none of these bands have measured up to the level of what was inspired in the 60s or 80s. I hope we hit decade where they start to. Cheers!
