I dropped Brian Chippendale a line last night -- he said they finished up about half an album last year and are planning to begin writing and recording again in June. If all goes well, they hope to have an album done by fall.

OK, can't believe we forgot the Wrens. If we had to vote again today, they'd be on the list. In fact, we just voted them in....there.

Re: Spent -- they played in my NJ backyard when I was a teenager. Do you recall John King's zine? I can't remember the name.

He definitely deserves a spot for those 24-hour Christmas marathons. And for having Shellac play in his parents' living room.

Yeah, we had to find a way to limit it ... those two, and others, are certainly honorary members. Also, with New Brunswick (and the Misfits, really) on the mind: Sticks and Stones.

True! Interesting that we misremembered ... Guess it's because the overall feeling here's less SD, SD, SD, etc. Fixed.

We were talking about "Tell Everyone We're Dead," which is a great old Promise Ring song: http://youtube.com/watch?v=IuDw8hguS74 ... Though they could've gone the Jawbreaker route with "Pack It Up."

You're right, we meant "compilation." This is what a late flight back from Coachella will do to a person. Fixed.

True. A couple people who bunked with us out here attended/loved it -- it was billed as a "rehearsal" for the Coachella show.
