Big K.R.I.T. – “R.E.M.” Video
The song may share a name with a certain legendary Georgia rock band, but “R.E.M.,” the new track from the heavy-hearted Mississippi rapper and producer Big K.R.I.T., borrows a sample from a very different, albeit equally unlikely, source: James Blake’s “The Wilhelm Scream.” Blake’s disconnected falsetto trills haunt K.R.I.T.’s open-hearted struggle-rap. And the song’s new video, from director KRSP, follows K.R.I.T. as he wanders through a dour black-and-white cityscape and encounters a doppelganger of himself. Watch it below.
The track comes from K.R.I.T.’s forthcoming mixtape King Remembered In Time, which also boasts the single “Shine On,” featuring Bun B.
