Months after the release of his confused-young-man masterpiece Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City, Kendrick Lamar still hasn’t yet shown up on every single late-night show. Last night, he checked another one off the list, serving as the musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Kendrick played on Kimmel’s massive outdoor stage, which is where he belongs, and it served as something like a triumphant hometown show for the young conqueror. With his unaccountably jazzy backing band, Kendrick did a Drake-free take on “Poetic Justice” and a “bitch”-free version of “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe.” Watch both below.
