When you put the words “Phoenix” and “Letterman” together, most people are automatically going to think of this. Last night, though, it meant something much less squirmy, as the elegantly whimsical French band served as guests on the Late Show With David Letterman, busting out the slick Bankrupt! album track “Trying To Be Cool.” And the band also played a 45-minute set for the show’s “Live On Letterman” webcast, playing big chunks of the new album and a few older hits.
