Nosaj Thing & Chance The Rapper – “Paranoia”
Yours Truly’s consistently great Songs From Scratch series pairs vocalists and producers who might otherwise never meet, getting them together to record a collaboration. The latest entry in the series is actually a song you might’ve already heard. It’s “Paranoia,” a collaboration between the L.A. bass music producer Nosaj Thing and the frenetic and thoughtful young Chicago MC Chance The Rapper. And you might’ve heard it because Chance included it on his excellent new mixtape Acid Rap, as the second half of the song “Pusha Man,” the one that arrives after a 20-second silence. The song is an empathetic meditation on Chicago teenage violence over a prettily blooping track. Listen to the song and watch a video about its making below.
Acid Rap is absolutely great, and you should download it here.
