Hear Queens Of The Stone Age Play “Keep Your Eyes Peeled” On Belgian Radio
Josh Homme’s calling in many friends to make QOTSA’s Matador debut …Like Clockwork a memorable one: Alex Turner, Dave Grohl, Elton John, Trent Reznor, Jake Shears, Mark Lanegan, and on. The songs are backing up the billing so far, too. From their recording studio, the band’s offered up the Monthly Mixed “My God Is The Sun” and “I Appear Missing.” To that they’ve added another pair of previews from a live session for Belgian radio, “I Sat By The Ocean” and “If I Had A Tail,” both of which Michael called “ample reason to keep expectations high.” Six years after Era Vulgaris, it is possible we’re encountering a reinvigorated, indie-label Homme. In any event, that Belgian radio session’s given us one more new live listen titled “Keep Your Eyes Peeled.” It’s a muscular track that isn’t a single per se, but a strong cut registering as upper-crust(y) filler at worst, a mostly sludge-heavy thing with tricksy turns that, most importantly, functions as another exhibition of an immaculately tight and sinewy live band in action. If …Like Clockwork the record is shaping up surprisingly well, then you have plenty of time to brace for the physicality of its attendant tour. Hear “Peeled” here:
