The Dodos – “Confidence”
This summer, San Francisco duo Dodos return with a followup to No Color, their fifth LP titled Carrier. The entire set was recorded close to home in SF, and its lead track “Confidence” is a wonderfully recorded thing, and a pristinely sung, wholesome-then-raucous guitar/drum track that will be good for you if you like this band. The band’s also said that Carrier is influenced by the death of Chris Reimer, also of Women, who became a Dodo in 2011: “Seeing how he could transform and shape sound with an electric guitar inspired me to explore more tones and use those tones to begin writing a song,” says singer/guitarist Meric Long. Polyvinyl will release the LP in August, and you can hear “Confidence” now:
