Edwin Mathis White is one half of the Montreal/NYC-via-Florida duo Tonstartssbandht, but to me his most intriguing songs are the ones he records solo under the moniker Eola. Previously, White released Deos Gracias, a 6-song tape of loopy experimental pop and woozy old-sounding melodies. It’s well worth a listen if you haven’t heard it. Now, he’s following that up with a new tape Ye out July 1 on New Camp Records. Here is one song from that tape, “Woko Spedda,” a bright whirl of sounds driven entirely by layered wordless vocal melodies.
