Highlights From Jay-Z’s Twitter Q&A
A few days after Jay-Z announced Magna Carta Holy Grail during the NBA Finals, he unleashed a tiny Twitter dispatch explaining the #NewRules of music marketing — projecting a “lead single” on buildings across the world, selling a million records before an album drops, and launching an app for a public listening session. He closed with, “Ok that was my yearly allotment see ya’ll [in] 2014.” Lies! As I’m typing, Hov is now fielding questions from fans on his timeline. While there’s no confirmation that it is actually him, or, on the flip side, that he has been hacked, if you’re familiar with Jay’s cheeky personality, it’s pretty likely he is the one sending out 140 character messages to masses. Check out a bunch of the best ones below, including thoughts on his past retirement, his favorite cereal, and which indie artist is handling the vinyl pressing of Magna Carta. Some of it is pretty funny #MyLaugh.
