Madlib And Freddie Gibbs – “City” (Feat. Karriem Riggins)
The perma-blunted cratedigging producer Madlib and the virtuosic Indiana G-rapper Freddie Gibbs have previously linked for two excellent EPs — check their collabs “Thuggin” and “Shame” — and now they’re hard at work on a full-on collaborative full-length called Piñata. (Bonus points for having the restraint to not call it MadGibbs.) Their latest track together, “City,” is part of the Adult Swim Singles Series. It’s a head-blown two-minute sprint with a surprisingly strong verse from the jazz drummer Karriem Riggins, and you can hear it below.

The track will be up for free download on Monday, and Piñata is due later this year. Pitchfork reports that it’ll include contributions from (deep breath) Raekwon, Earl Sweatshirt, Danny Brown, Domo Genesis, Joey Bada$$, Ab-Soul, BJ The Chicago Kid, Meech of Flatbush Zombies, Casey Veggies, Mac Miller, Polyester the Saint, and G-Wiz. So yeah: Can’t wait.
