Matt Kivel – “Rainbow Trout”
Matt Kivel has been making music for quite some time now, but soon he’ll be putting out his first solo album, and “Rainbow Trout” is a warm and pleasant look at what to expect. Acoustic guitar and occasional moments of piano provide all that’s needed to buoy Kivel’s sweet voice. He often restrains himself just enough to give gentle nudges, like the harder strumming in the chorus or phrases like “body shook with pain,” and “sweet bird, don’t cry” a subtle power. Listen below.
