Russian Circles – “Memorial” (Feat. Chelsea Wolfe)

Chicago trio Russian Circles generally work somewhere on the line between metal and post-rock, generating slow moving, but towering instrumentals like on the recently released "Deficit." It's rare for them to ever work with vocals, but they've just debuted a song from their new album Memorial featuring the wonderful Chelsea Wolfe. "Memorial" still sounds like Russian Circles, but Wolfe's vocals add a very vulnerable and human element to it all -- it makes sense that they would pick this to close out the album. They might be known for their instrumentals, but I wouldn't mind hearing them take on a few more guest vocalists in the future not unlike what Battles did a few years ago with Gloss Drop. Listen below.

Memorial is out 10/29 on Sargent House.
