Russian Circles – “1777”
The glacial and grand Chicago post-metal band Russian Circles are mere weeks away from releasing their new album Memorial, and we’ve already posted the title track (which features vocals from Chelsea Wolfe) and “Deficit.” If you’re ready to be overcome by majesty once again, then you’d do well to check out the grand and welcoming seven-minute instrumental “1777,” which sounds closer to Sigur Rós or Explosions In The Sky than it does to Morbid Angel or Darkthrone (though it does have some teeth). Listen below.
Memorial is out 10/29 on Sargent House.
