Múm – “When Girls Collide (Jónsi Remix)” (Stereogum Premiere)
Múm’s “When Girls Collide” (off their recent album Smilewound) is a fast, fun pop song, and you might expect that to change once Jónsi of Sigur Rós, a band that practically owns the rights to the word “glacial,” chose to remix it. Actually he does the opposite, turning it into a sparkling, bumpin’ club track. Jónsi makes a sort of tasting menu of trance-y goodness, hanging on one groove for 30 or so seconds before shifting into something new. Listen below.
Smilewound is out now via Morr Music.
