Watch Tyler, The Creator & Earl Sweatshirt Perform “Garbage” At The 2013 VGX Awards
Tyler, The Creator had a song called “Garbage” in Grand Theft Auto V, and he showed up at the video-game-honoring VGX Awards to perform the track with Earl Sweatshirt in tow. It’s a typically grimy and foreboding Tyler production but with some excellent brass parts that make the song sound appropriately ceremonious for the occasion even as Tyler raps from a drug dealer’s point of view. The costumes and Tyler’s dance moves are also first-rate. The whole thing’s a welcome reminder that Odd Future was responsible for one of the greatest live TV music moments of our time. This one isn’t on that level, but it’s definitely worth watching, so do that now.

After Wolf was such a juvenile slog, it’s good to see Tyler showing some staying power.
