Katy B – “Sleigh Ride”
The great British dance-pop singer Katy B is a few months away from releasing her sophomore album Little Red, and we’ve posted her songs “I Like You” and “Crying For No Reason,” which both rule. During BBC DJ Rob Da Bank’s recent Christmas party, Katy sang both of those songs, and she also trotted out a holiday standard: “Sleigh Ride,” composed by Leroy Anderson in 1946 and most famously sun by the Ronettes. Katy’s version is a fun, frothy, soulful thing that does basically nothing to update the track, and you can hear it below.
