Rhode Island singer-songwriter Joel Thibodeau, known to the world as Death Vessel, recorded his forthcoming third album Island Intervals in Iceland, and Sigur Rós main man Jónsi guests on first single “Isla Drown.” Even when Jónsi isn’t on the track, though, his band’s delicate, otherworldly influence shines through. “Mercury Dime,” the second Island Intervals song that Thibodeau has shared, is, at its core, an old-timey folk song, but the shiny marimbas and swelling orchestration gives it an ethereal air.
