Stream Gardens & Villa Dunes
Gardens & Villa have been playing for a few years, but they’ve come into their own on the new album, Dunes, in a huge way. Some of that is due to the production work of Tim Goldsworthy, who worked similar wonders when Cut Copy hooked up with him for their breakthrough In Ghost Colours. If you’ve heard recent singles like “Bullet Train” and “Colony Glen” you’ll have an idea of what to expect: punchy post-punk drums, ear-worm synth hooks, and flutes that make me wonder if we’re heading into a trend like the big saxophone craze from a couple years back. From the second “Dominos” comes floating in, G&V sound confident as hell. Give Dunes a listen below.
