Beverly – “Honey Do”
The former Vivian Girls/Crystal Stilts/Dum Dum Girls member Frankie Rose has been releasing some wonderfully swoony indie-pop solo albums over the last few years, and now she’s half of a new duo called Beverly. The other half is Drew Citron, who plays in her live band and also in the New York band Avan Lava. Citron is the lead songwriter, but Rose’s sugary harmonies are a good reason to listen to anything, and they are very much in evidence on “Honey Do,” the duo’s new song. It’s a fuzzy, warm ’90s-style twee-pop jam, and you can hear it below.
“Honey Do” will be out on a vinyl-only Kanine Records compilation on Record Store Day, and there’s a Beverly album coming in summer on Kanine.
