The National Cancel Russia, Ukraine Shows Citing Political Unrest
Yesterday on their Facebook page the National released a statement saying they have cancelled their tour dates for Russia and Ukraine due to “the ongoing political crisis” in the region. Shows were scheduled for Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev this summer. Refunds will be given at points of purchase, and for now there is no news as to whether these shows will be rescheduled or if the band will add dates in different locations to make up for them. You can read the full statement below.
Due to the ongoing political crisis in the region, we are sad to report that we have decided to cancel our shows in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev this summer. Ticket refunds are available at the point of purchase. We remain hopeful of coming to play for you in the future and we sincerely hope this current instability resolves in a positive, democratic and peaceful way. Take care of yourselves and we hope to see you soon.
