The central riff from the White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" long ago ceased being simply a component part of a great rock song and instead became the sort of thing you chant at football games. (Go Ravens.) And over the weekend, as part of the Harbour Birthday celebrations in Hamburg, the MSC Magnifica, a massive cruise ship, played the riff on its horn and made it sound like a god dying.
