A Sunny Day In Glasgow – “Bye Bye Big Ocean (The End)”
Barely a week into this year we got a nice surprise with A Sunny Day In Glasgow’s “In Love With Useless (The Timeless Geometry In The Tradition Of Passing)” — a song so good it made up for the fact that the band hadn’t released an album in four years. A bit later we got official news of their new album, Sea When Absent, along with another single, “Crushin’.” Now the release date for that LP is less than a month away, and the band has shared its opening track, “Bye Bye Big Ocean (The End).” Much like the group’s sudden return, “Bye Bye” hits the ground running as it rides in on a massive wave of synths and just gets louder and prettier from there. Together the singles make up the first three tracks of Sea When Absent — we’ll have to wait to hear how the whole thing plays out, but this at least shows they sure as hell know how to make an entrance.
