The World Cup kicks off in about a week and a half, which means it’s time for another round of hope and anxiety and crushing disappointment for the people of England. And one English lady has taken part in the festivities by recording her own unofficial World Cup anthem. Lily Allen returned recently with her comeback album Sheezus, and her brand-new song “Bass Like Home” is more explicitly dancey than anything on the LP. It’s a skittering UK garage banger, and it makes it sound like Allen and her collaborators have been jamming Disclosure a lot lately. (If you’re English and looking for future hopes, Disclosure probably make pretty good spirit animals.) Listen to the track below.
