R.I.P. Casey Kasem
Radio host Casey Kasem has passed away, according to The New York Times. Kasem was best known for creating the music radio program American Top 40, which he hosted continuously from 1970 until 1988 and intermittently between 1998 and 2003. He continued to host sister programs American Top 20 and American Top 10 until 2009. In addition to his work in radio, he was also a notable cartoon voice actor, most famously for the role of Shaggy in the Scooby Doo franchise. Kasem had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia in 2007. His death was confirmed in a Facebook post by his daughter. He was 82.
