Morrissey Band’s Boz Boorer Enters The Fray, Releases Video With Eddie Argos
One thing about the members of Morrissey’s backing band: They are loyal. Recently, Morrissey cancelled an entire tour, blaming opening act Kristeen Young for spreading illness to the entire touring party. Young expressed befuddlement, claiming that she was only having an allergic reaction, and the veteran record producer Tony Visconti, who has worked with both Morrissey and Young, left some Facebook posts siding with Young. Morrissey’s guitarist Jesse Tobias responded by blasting Young and Visconti in an online statement. And now Boz Boorer, Morrissey’s other guitarist, has done the same, though using slightly more tempered language than Tobias. If you somehow need more Boz Boorer news today, please note that Boorer, former frontman of the British ’80s rockabilly band the Polecats, has a new single with Art Brut frontman Eddie Argos called “Girl From Atlanta,” and that single now has a video of Argos ambling through a decidedly non-Atlanta city and bonding with locals. Check out Boorer’s statement and his video below.
Boorer writes:
I have just returned from 5 days in the mountains of Portugal where I am cut off from the internet. It appears I have missed an awful lot. Search as I have I can only find snippets of Tony Visconti’s postings and I am very shocked and disappointed at what I have read and can only wonder why he immediately withdrew the postings with no explanation. Kristeen has been a constant companion on the road for so long and I am also bewildered by her actions also immediately withdrawn from view. I hate to throw wood on an already blazing fire but I am afraid I cannot sit back and watch this slander.
