Dozens Of Avicii Fans Get Too Fucked Up In Boston
Last night, the Swedish dance music DJ and producer Avicii did a show at the Boston arena TD Garden, and upwards of 80 concertgoers had to receive medical attention. This wasn’t some huge accident, a stage collapse or a barricade crush or anything like that. It’s just that many people were too fucked up.
Boston EMS Deputy Superintendent Michael Bosee tells NBC News Boston that the problems included “Mostly heat and alcohol related symptoms. There was a lot of underage drinking and some illicit drugs. However, we can’t identify anything specific… When you have this type of a concert, this techno-rave type thing, we kind of know it may be coming.”
50 people at the show were treated by paramedics, while 36 were transported to area hospitals. Live Nation, who promoted the show, claims that most of the patients were stopped before entering the hospitals. EMTs estimate that most of the patients were between 16 and 25 years of age. According to emergency medical services, none of the patients were in serious condition. Still, yikes.
