Neil Young Cancels Israel Concert Over Security Concerns
Neil Young & Crazy Horse were slated to play Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park later this week, but with the conflict between Hamas and Israel getting worse by the day, Young has canceled the show. With the cancellation, Young has issued a statement, saying, “I will be making donations to both the Louise Tillie Alpert Youth Music Centre of Israel, and Heartbeat, two organizations that teach music to Palestinian and Israeli youth simultaneously by enabling them to play music together.” Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Young says that tensions have “rendered the event unsafe” and writes, “We’ll miss the opportunity to play for our fans and look forward to playing in Israel and Palestine in peace.” That seems like it could take a while.
