Mazes – “Salford”
British rockers Mazes are at their best when making quick bursts of energetic rock and that’s exactly what they did on “Astigmatism” from earlier this year and do again on “Salford.” Boy/girl vocals spill over each other as they trade statements of self back and forth. Stuff like “I am cool” and “I wear my hair long and listen to sad songs,” things that sound lame and on-the-nose when you read them, but fit comfortably within the plucky world of the song. Listen below.
Mazes’ third album Wooden Aquarium comes out 9/8 on Fat Cat Records.
