Tweedy – “Flowering”
Remember how Wilco posted Yankee Hotel Foxtrot for free online until they could find a label to release it? It seems like Jeff Tweedy is doing something similar with his new band Tweedy, a duo that also features his 18-year-old drummer son Spencer. He’s just doing it a piece at a time. Tweedy’s debut album Sukierae doesn’t come out until next month, but they’ve already shared seven of its 20 songs: “I’ll Sing It,” “Summer Noon,” “Wait For Love,” “Diamond Light Pt. 1,” “Fake Fur Coat,” “Low Key,” and “High As Hello.” Today, they make it eight. The latest track they’ve shared is a very pretty modest shamble called “Flowering.” It’s a deeply pretty and weirdly refreshing listen, and you can hear it below.
Sukierae is out 9/23 on Wilco’s dBpm label.
