Watch Arcade Fire Cover Fugazi’s “Waiting Room” In Washington, D.C.
Fugazi is synonymous with the underground D.C. scene, so it makes sense that Arcade Fire would choose to give them the cover treatment. At last night’s show at the Verizon Center, Win Butler covered “Waiting Room” in his paper mâché mask. The original song kicks off the hardcore punks’ self-titled debut EP (which won’t be their official debut for long — Dischord has announced plans to put out Fugazi’s unreleased first demo tape soon). The Canadian band also had someone in an Obama paper mâché mask on stage, which they first brought out in April at a show in Austin and again last night in the nation’s capital. Watch video below.
Arcade Fire’s next tour stop is tomorrow night in Mansfield, MA.
