At the end of August, Tycho stopped by the 2014 edition of Burning Man to play a DJ set that began in the predawn darkness and eventually soundtracked the sunrise. Though Tycho is in full-on live band mode these days, it served as a reminder that this guy is one hell of a DJ. This set would be exactly what you’d want around that time of morning, as Tycho played everything from Boards Of Canada to Bibio to Caribou/Daphni to Washed Out. In real life, the set hit its climax when one of the festival’s many massive sculptures was ignited and eventually became engulfed in flames.
