If you’re going to sell a pair of headphones for the same price as a reliable used car, maybe you don’t want the Beats By Dre guys designing the audio; that line isn’t exactly famous for having the best audio quality. But nobody told Karl Lagerfeld, who has teamed up with Monster Audio and Beats By Dre’s sound engineers to design a pair of $5,000 quilted Chanel headphones. Forbes reports that the headphones will be in Chanel boutiques this month, which doesn’t give us much time to figure out why in the fuck anyone would buy these things. (Incredibly, those are not the most expensive headphones on the market, though it’s close.)
