Jack Bruce, the legendary Scottish bassist and Cream member, has passed away. Bruce’s family announced the news with a note on his website: “It is with great sadness that we, Jack’s family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend. The world of music will be a poorer place without him, but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts.” According to the BBC (via Bruce’s publicist), he died from liver disease at his home in Suffolk with his family. He was 71. His last album, Silver Rails was released earlier this year. Cream recently announced the release of a massive career-spanning vinyl reissue.
