Soundgarden – “Storm” + Echo Of Miles Details
Last night, out of nowhere, grunge warriors Soundgarden released a brand new song called “Storm” into the world. It’s a big, sprawling psychedelic churner with a serious low end and some impressive mystic vibes, and it could easily be a second-half album track on Superunknown. Lately, the band has been making noises about releasing a B-sides compilation, and we don’t know if this has anything to do with that. (UPDATE: It does, see below.) We do, however, know that it’s the first new song they’ve cranked out since they released their reunion album King Animal two years ago. It was recorded in May with Jack Endino in Seattle. Check it out below.
It’s entirely possible that the whole Soundgarden-reunion endeavor is just now hitting its stride. That’s a good song.
UPDATE: Here’s the tracklist for the new b-sides and rarities collection Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path, out 11/25 via A&M. “Storm” is one of 7 unreleased tracks.
