Mary J. Blige – “When You’re Gone”
The biggest draw to Mary J. Blige’s new album is probably all of the collaborations with people like Disclosure, Sam Smith, and Emile Sandé — most of which we’ve heard already — but The London Sessions is a whole album, and there are some more low-key songs on there as well. “When You’re Gone” is one of them, a gentle guitar ballad that doesn’t rise above its’ confines much, but Blige’s voice does imbue it with a healthy dose of soulfulness. The London Sessions is out 12/2 on Capitol.
